Franklin OMH

The 5 Municipal Housing Offices (OMH) of the Haut-Saint-Laurent MRC unveiled on October 5, 2017, a consolidation agreement aimed at streamlining the management of the OMHs and maximizing access to services.

Following an initial meeting held in December 2016, the OMHs of Huntingdon, Ormstown, Franklin, Saint-Chrysostome, and Howick began a consolidation process. A Transition and Consultation Committee (TCC), consisting of approximately 12 individuals and representative of all these OMHs, was established. Supported in its efforts by the Haut-Saint-Laurent MRC, the TCC prepared the agreement, which was officially signed on October 5, 2017, at the Alfred-Langevin Hall in the presence of elected officials including Franklin Mayor Suzanne Yelle Blair and several representatives from the OMHs of the area.

This agreement enabled the consolidation of 132 low-rental units (HLM) spread across 5 buildings, 4 subsidized rentals from the Rent Supplement Program, and 11 from the Accès Logis Program (ACL). The new organization is named the Haut-Saint-Laurent Municipal Housing Office and was established in January 2018.
