Within the Haut-Saint-Laurent RCM, Franklin is the second largest commercial and industrial site. Although Franklin’s economic activity is mainly related to apple and maple production, it also includes the largest employer in the RCM, Les Vergers Leahy / Leahy Orchards, with more than 300 employees.
The Municipality of Franklin has about 83 businesses. Of these, about half are in the agri-food sector (businesses selling agricultural products, processing, restaurants and distribution companies).
In terms of accommodation, the Municipality has a motel, three cottages and four campsites. The Lac des Pins campsite is the largest with more than 1,110 camping sites and offers several services inside the campsite, including a grocery store.
